IAC acquires the Princeton Review

The Princeton Review is a test preparation and college admission services company offering test preapartion services, tutoring and admissions resources, online courses, and books published by Random House.

“We’re confident that by combining Tutor.com’s technology and marketing expertise with such a trusted brand, our A-to-Z solution for students will be like nothing else in the marketplace, and we’ll take a big part of a large and growing market,” Ms. Ginsberg said in a statement.

Deborah G. Ellinger, chief executive of the Princeton Review, said in a statement that the sale would “accelerate our vision of reaching every student and helping them get into and succeed at their best-fit college or grad school.”

On May 18, 2012 The Princeton Review spun out from parent company and took The Princeton Review name. Nowdays is officially named TPR Education, LLC.

The deal is expected to close on Aug. 1.

This deal helps IAC helps to expend its search engine brands like About.com, Ask.com and Vimeo. It stretchs the area as much as datings sites like Match.com and OkCupid, as well as sites like CollegeHumor and Vimeo.
